Mark J. Lien
Sales and Marketing Executive 


Mark Lien has been a partner with Optim over the past several years.  He is a corporate executive with extensive sales and marketing field experience that focuses on building start-up and stronger companies, identifying new markets, expansion through both organic and M&A  growth, and facilitating ownership transitions. Among industries served are financial, manufacturing, distribution, service, software, healthcare and technology

Mark is Senior Vice President of Sales and Funding Strategy for Appistry which helps clinical labs, research institutions and hospitals capitalize on genomics data so that they can practice genomically enhanced medicine. He has overseen global sales and marketing strategies while leading the solicitation of millions of dollars from investors.

Extensive background in the financial sector includes Mark's role as Vice President of Mutual Fund Sales for American Funds Distributors, the largest broker sold mutual fund family in the United States.  Mark maintained relationships with over 1,200 financial advisors in all distribution channels and grew sales from $300 million to $1.7 billion. He has spent nearly a dozen years with Edward Jones in field and management positions in various cities throughout the midwest and Texas.  This was followed by time with Cornerstone Wealth Management where he was Senior Vice President and doubled its revenues and sales force.

Randy Palubiak
Communications Technology


As President of Enliten Associates, Randy Palubiak is the lead for Media Business Strategies and the integration of emerging video and dynamic media communication and workplace learning solutions for corporations, associations, and government agencies.

Prior to his founding of Enliten, Randy led business development and sales of Business Television (BTV) and Interactive Distance Learning (IDL) networks at Gilat MultiMedia, Inc., AT&T, and Convergent Media Systems. In his career in broadcast television, Randy worked for local television stations affiliated with ABC, CBS, and NBC. Randy has provided guidance and services to more than 100 enterprise organizations including: Air Force, American Family Insurance, Amoco (BP), AT&T, Edward Jones Company, Hallmark Cards, The Home Depot, Intel, International Monetary Fund, J.C. Penney, McDonald’s, Monsanto, Rollins, Safeway, Wells Fargo, The World Bank, and the Government Education & Training Network (GETN).

Randy is a recognized speaker and presenter. He is the author of Digital Touch Points: How to Gain a Competitive Advantage Using Video and Dynamic Media and has co-authored two industry books: Delivery of Media in the Enterprise and The BTV/IP Receiver Guide.  Randy earned his Master’s Degree in Communications and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Missouri.

Scott Palubiak
Global Healthcare


Scott Palubiak is Vice President, General Manager of Newborn Screening and Diagnostics for Perkin Elmer Health Sciences globally. Scott is internationally recognized for driving market based solutions in clinical diagnostics and screening. He routinely visits customers in such places as Brazil, China, India and Russia as he expands the company's reach. 

Scott's experience includes raising funds and positioning early stage firms such as OttoSensors, Inc., a biotechnology transfer from Case Western Reserve University. He has held senior management positions with Fasson Medical Products (Avery Dennison) and Scientific Products (American Hospital Supply / Baxter). He is on the Board of the American Board College Medical Genetics Foundation (ACMGF). Other boards include the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) and International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR).

Scott earned his Master's Degree in Business and Bachelor of Zoology (Pre-Med) at the University of Missouri.

Brad Palubiak
Financial Services


Brad Palubiak founded Cornerstone Processing Systems based out of Wisconsin to provide solutions for merchants that are processing credit / debit cards, gift cards, bank checks and ATM transactions.  As one of the largest suppliers in the Midwest, the company services include on-line, telephone and on-premise support along with point-of-sale software, hardware, warehousing, installations and equipment remanufacturing.

Brad has successfully built and sold related companies prior to Cornerstone.  He has over 25 years of sales and business management experience including time with Amertiech/SBC.  Professional membership
 organizations include the Midwest Acquirer's Association (MAA), ATM Industry  Association (ATMIA) and the American Beverage Licensees (ABL).

Software Solutions

Frank Palubiak has extensive sales and marketing experience in the software solutions industry.  Frank is the Regional Sales Manager for Plex Systems which enables forward-thinking business to increase throughput with existing facilities and squeeze out more profits from every order while reducing risk.

As part of the Epicor Software Corporation team, his focus was on identifying and developing relationships throughout the Midwest with wholesale distributors.  Primary industries include electrical, industrial, petroleum, HVAC and general distribution.  Process improvement, Six Sigma and ROI justifications are core to system implementation.

Prior to Epicor, Frank worked for ADP Dealer Services in providing software systems that targeted accounting, inventory optimization and sales process improvement for automotive dealerships throughout the region.
